Today is my brother Craig’s birthday. He is, I believe, turning a young 38 years old. Watch out Craig, the 40’s are around the corner!!

I’m attempting to catch up my many loyal blog readers (okay, one reader, Hi Mom) with the goings on of Talbotland. In June Chris and I made a quick trip to California to visit my parents and to say a quick hello to Chris’ new work contacts in Santa Barbara. Summer, Chris’ daughter, engineered a dinner get-together where we manged to safely combine my family and Chris’ family. Unfortunately, my mom wasn’t feeling well enough to join, but we did have a large group with my dad, Chris’ mom and dad, Summer and her beau David, my brother Craig and his wife Ellen.

As I was sipping my morning cup of brew yesterday morning, I was once again reminded by the beauty that surrounds me just how blessed and fortunate I am to have this view as “my backyard.”
